The veiny one-eyed monsters from the Prologue have finally manifested themselves in the story proper!
Although noted in the script as the V.O.E.M. ( or Voem) they generally go by the name Adherents. I am attempting to make them as unsettling as possible, giving them a creepy vibe. Even our battle-scarred raider Quartermaster Marg is put off by them!

They sound creepy as well, in case you missed the animated version of the prologue it can be found here.

Whatever they want with all of those lifeforms, it can’t be pleasant!

These raider do seem to enjoy spikes. They have spikey helmets, spikey armor and a spikey planet! I wonder if Marg makes his “lads” take a customer service training seminar? Would he hire an outside firm to train his troops? There’s some comedy potential in that.

These wasp-bot fighters are further proof of my obsession with the 1980s video game classics Galaga, Galaxian and GORF. And although I’ve never shown it in this comic, they do transform into bipedial bots. I probably should get around to that some day.
